ARTS FEST – RHYTHM

It is very appropriately said, “Individuals play the game, but teams beat the odds.” Teamwork starts off from day one of fest preparations. It is just the right team work that helps in bringing out the best decisions. It is all about fun embellished with learning experience when it comes to organizing a successful college festival. College festivals are all about the fun, frolic, dancing, eating, chatting, meeting new people from other colleges, participating in events, star performances and all that, just hold on. College campuses are nothing if not eventful — students have tons of activities and extracurricular to choose from every day. College is the place we can find ourselves, the place where students discover what it’s like to be out on our own, what we truly like and dislike, where we belong. Apart from the fun, frolic and platform that it offers to students to exhibit their talents, the fest is also an acid test of some students' managerial skills, as well as the flexibility in decision-making of the teachers. The college Arts festival is conducted each year with unique names. In order to ensure the maximum participation from every student and to inculcate in them a spirit of competition, all the students are grouped into four houses. Each group is headed by respective teachers. The competitions are conducted house wise. This year, the 10th annual Arts Festival, ’RHYTHM 2k18’, once again invited the populace to acquaint with the variety of arts at MBITS College firsthand. A proficient group of more than 500 students presented music, dance, poetry and literature, painting, and many more.

The two-day-long event, inaugurated by Neeraj Madhav, was held on 2nd and 3rd of March 2018 with the official launching being done on 15th February by renowned cine artists Govind Padmasoorya and Poojitha Menon. The students actively competed in various on stage and off stage events. The events showcased many creative and attractive talents of the students. Mr.Rijo S Avarappattu of S8 CE was awarded the title of Kalaprathibha and Miss. Aswathy Sasi, S6 CSE bagged the title of Kalathilakam.

On the same day, the entire crew of Cuban Colony visited our campus for their film promotion. The ardent support from entire staffs and students made the arts fest a remarkable event. It was finally concluded by the dance fest ‘Thandav’ which eventually turned out as a great crowd puller.
